About Us

Arete Politik Felsefe Dergisi (Arete Journal of Political Philosophy), founded by Zeliha Dişci and Murat Soysal, started its publication life in October 2020.

Arete Journal of Political Philosophy is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to original research in political philosophy and critical theory. The journal publishes theoretical contributions that engage with both classical and contemporary debates, including political ontology, ethics, ideology critique, biopolitics, post-Marxism, and critical social theory.

The Journal aims to provide an international forum for philosophical reflection on political concepts, practices, and structures, encouraging dialogue between different philosophical traditions and contemporary theoretical approaches. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary perspectives insofar as they contribute to philosophical debates on politics.

Arete Politik Felsefe Dergisi (Arete Journal of Political Philosophy)* aims to publish scientific articles that reflect original ideas from political philosophy in particular and from various fields of social sciences such as political science, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and history which connect with political philosophy in general.

Getting strength from the permeability of interdisciplinary border, it brings together qualified writings that discuss various issues, events, ideas, and thinkers that concern political philosophy, whether ancient or contemporary. Arete Politik Felsefe Dergisi (Arete Journal of Political Philosophy) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, international, academic e-journal that is published twice a year (May, November) and consists of articles in Turkish and English. Each issue includes research articles related to political philosophy as well as the articles such as interviews, translations, and book reviews
